Search document templates

Quickly find individual templates from the document template dashboard by searching for a document name, file name, or EID.

If you don't have too many document templates, you'll be able to see all of them on the first page. Once you start building up a library of document templates, use the search function to quickly find the exact template you need instead of flipping through your pages.

Getting started

Document templates can be found by searching for a document's:

  • Name: The name of your document template.
  • File name: The name of the PDF or .docx file.
  • EID : A unique 20 character ID that can be found in the API page of a document template.

Here are a few things you should keep in mind before you start searching for your document templates:

  • All search categories support full or partial searches

    • If you’re looking for a document template named Template sample, you can search for:
      • “Template”, “sample”, “Tem”, “Template s”, etc.
    • The more precise your search is, the narrower your search results become.
  • Only published template names and file names are supported

    • If you renamed a template or a file and saved your changes as a draft, the updated names will not be searchable until you’ve published the draft.

  • Searches will automatically redirect you

    • Once you've entered a search term, you will be automatically be redirected to the first page of matching results
    • Clear your search and return to the view of all document templates by deleting the contents of your search bar.

How to search for a document template

To search for a document template:

  1. Click on Document Templates in the toolbar to the left Document Templates is the first option under the Anvil logo
  2. Select the search bar at the top of the page Search bar is directly underneat the All Templates header
  3. Enter your search term
